I'm waaaay too lazy!
Didn't review the rest of my list or re-write the crappy reviews I posted. Doesn't help that my DVD player's busted and my comp isn't fixed yet, so no watching DVD's for me... :(

09:51 pm - Proffy's Choice: "Young Frankenstein"
Warning: Spoilers Be Here...
This is one of my top ten favorite comedies of all time and a great horror movie as well. What a remake! Gene Wilder was brilliant as Dr. Frankenstein. The balancing of the seriousness and comedy was something to behold. I haven’t enjoyed yelling this much since the last time I saw a Pacino performance. Marty Feldman’s Igor stole the show. From his mocking of Dr. Frankenstein’s pronunciation of his name to the shifting of his hump and of course the running gag of the saying of “Frau Blucher” causing neighing from horses. The two jokes/references I most use from this movie are the pronunciation of Frankenstein and “Abby Normal” hilarious. I’m sure I’m not alone in saying that I had a huge crush on Teri Garr after seeing this movie. The seeming innocence and the sexual tension and joking between her character and Dr. Frankenstein was, electric there’s not a bad or sub par performance in the film. Madeline Kahn played such a great bitch as Dr. Frankenstein’s fiancé. She took a small role and made it come alive, seeing her in the Bride of Frankenstein get up was a sight to behold.
Listening to the commentaries we learn that they used the same sets and filmed in the same castle as the original. It sure as hell worked. The atmosphere brought me right back to seeing the original as a child. All the scientific equipment, the castle and black & white film made for a wonderful and respectful remake to a true classic. It makes me want to see the original and the Bride all over again. Let this be a lesson to all. If you have to remake a classic stay true to the spirit of it. One of the very few movies that get’s zero complaints outta me. What can you say about Mel Brooks that hasn’t already been said? His filmography speaks for itself. Most especially The Producers, Blazing Saddles, Young Frankenstein, History of the World: Part I and Space Balls. I watch them yearly and never get tired of it all.
09:46 pm - Proffy's Choice: "The Warriors"
Warning: Spoilers Be Here...
The Warriors, first saw it as a kid and instantly fell in love with it. Being from Brooklyn I know all the neighborhoods they run through. So what’s it about? NYC is gang ridden well over a hundred thousand strong all fighting over “turf” their neighborhoods. Cyrus The leader of the largest most powerful gang called the gramercy riffs calls all of the gangs together for a meeting and has a plan to strike up a general truce with most if not all of the gangs. Doing that would make them all stronger able to fight off the mafia and police pretty much being able to take over New York. The gang we’re rooting for is called the warriors their from Coney island who like most every other gang attends the meeting all’s going well with a popular speech delivered by Cyrus, that is until Luther leader of The rogues shoots him. Causing panic and just in time for the cops to raid the park gathering. Luther during the entire ruckus blames the shooting on the warriors and its leader Cleon, the riffs quickly seize him meanwhile the rest of The Warriors try and get out of the riot and escape arrest. Not sure where their leader is or if the truce is still in effect they decide to make their way back home. Not knowing that the word is out that The Riffs want The Warriors. They quickly discover that they must “bop” their way back to Coney Island if they want to live.
The rest of the movie entails their jumping on and off different trains and subway stations as well as going on foot between them. All the while having to fight off area gangs and being split up. The gangs are all very colorful and cheesy of course. Most famous example would be The Baseball Furies. A gang dresses as you guessed it a baseball team! They turn out to a lot tougher than the other gangs or Riffs ever thought and actually make it back home with few deaths but being back home doesn’t make them safe as they soon find out when who shows up but Luther and his Rogues. We get a classic stand off on the beach at Coney Island and conveniently have Luther confess to killing Cyrus why? “No reason I just like doing things like that” and of course who over hears this? The Riffs! And in full force I might add... It ends with The Warriors heading out and The Riffs encircling the poor, poor Rogues and of course the musical genius of Joe Walsh’s “In the City”
